Scholarships

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa (RMHC – EI) Scholarship Program provides scholarships to graduating seniors from Eastern Iowa intent on continuing their education after high school.

By the Numbers

Since 2008, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa Scholarship Program has helped sixteen students in Eastern Iowa attend college. 

How to Apply

Students may apply online starting November 11, 2011. Click here to apply! Graduating high school seniors may apply for only one of the four scholarships. The four types of scholarship available include: RMHC®/Scholars, RMHC®/Asia, RMHC®/African-American Future Achievers, and RMHC®/HACER®. Applicants will be notified of scholarship award status in May-June 2012.

Eligibility Requirements

1. Individual must be a currently enrolled high school senior eligible to attend a 2 to 4 year college, university, or vocational/technical school with a complete course of study.

2. Individual must be a legal U.S. resident.

3. Individual must be less than 21 years of age.

4. Individual must reside in a county within the geographical boundaries of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa chapter: Benton, Bremer, Black Hawk, Buchanan, Cedar, Chickasaw, Clinton, Dubuque, Fayette, Franklin, Grant (WI), Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Linn, Washington

Required Documents (sent via mail)

1. A certified high school transcript that contains the student's class rank and test scores.

2. Applicants must submit a personal statement that provides information and their community involvement, career goals, and desire to contribute to their community (250 words maximum).

3. A one-page letter of recommendation from one of applicant's teachers or school official.

4. Applicants must submit a current (2009 or 2010) copy of the IRS Form 1040 filed by his or her parent(s) or guardian(s) used to document total income.
